CA Student Transfer from another Provincial Institute
A CA Student transfer from another provincial institute is eligible for registration if the individual is currently registered and in good standing with another provincial institute and who also:
- Has a university degree conferred; and
- Has completed, to the Registrar’s satisfaction, some or all of the Practical Experience Requirement, which has been accepted by the provincial institute with which the student was registered; and
- Has not attempted the UFE; and
- Within three months of the date of registration with the Institute, discontinues or terminates registration with any other provincial institute.
If you are an individual who meets all the above eligibility requirements, the following steps outline the process of becoming a CA.
- Register as a student by submitting the following:
- Obtain employment at an approved CA Training office.
- Complete 51 credit-hours in specific courses.
- Complete the ICAO Professional Program (IPP) which consists of the Core-Knowledge Exam and the School of Accountancy. Successful completion of the IPP establishes eligibility to attempt the Uniform Final Evaluation (UFE).
- Successfully complete the Uniform Final Evaluation (UFE).
- Complete the Experience Requirement at a CA Training Office.
- Complete the admission to membership application form.
- Upon approval from the Institute, the student will be granted the CA designation.
A CA Student transfer from Quebec is eligible for registration if the individual is currently registered and in good standing with the Ordre des comptables agrees du Quebec and who also:
- Has a university degree conferred; and
- Has successfully completed the UFE while so registered.
If you are an individual who meets all the above eligibility requirements, the following steps outline the process of becoming a CA.
- Submit the following documents:
- Application for Membership by Affiliation with admission to membership fee;
- Admission to Membership Referee’s Recommendation;
- Affiliate Membership Statutory French Test Declaration form;
- Certified university transcript(s) showing a convocation date and showing all completed courses (a certified transcript is required from each university and/or each educational institution at which courses have been completed. The following should be included, as applicable: CÉGEP/A Levels/college transcripts);
- A letter of good standing from the Ordre des comptables agrees du Quebec. This letter should indicate what degree/s the individual conferred , include all details of recognized work experience, confirm that the individual has passed the Uniform Final Examination but has not passed the Statutory French test.
- Upon approval from the Institute, the student will be granted the CA designation.
