Wilfrid Laurier UniversityTransfer Credits and Course Mixes Between Universities Please be aware that, although a recognized university may have granted you a transfer credit or an exemption for a course taken at a post-secondary institution, the course may not fulfill the Institute’s requirements. The Institute will assess ALL transfer credits and exemptions! It is also essential that students check with the Institute prior to mixing courses between different post-secondary institutions to avoid course content overlap and denial of Institute credits. Academic Year 2010-11Hons BBA or Hons BA Econ & Acc (including co-op) Degree Program (4 years, 120 credit hours)Accredited Stream - The Accredited Stream is defined as the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (HBBA) or the Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Accounting (HBAEA) inclusive of the post-degree undergraduate courses needed to complete the Institute's 51 credit-hour requirement. Graduates from the HBBA or the HBAEA programs inclusive of the post-degree undergraduate courses who have achieved a minimum "B-" GPA in the 19 courses listed below are considered having graduated from the Accredited Stream. NOTE: The "CA/Laurier Centre for the Advancement of Accounting Research and Education" is the established joint CA/University centre for this school. Total Credits Offered: 51 (see Note) @ = Course available through distance education Financial Accounting (15 credit hours required) Cost and Management Accounting (6 credit hours required) Advanced Accounting Elective (3 credit hours required) Auditing (9 credit hours required) Taxation (6 credit hours required) Business Information Systems (3 credit hours required) Finance/Financial Management (3 credit hours required) Economics (3 credit hours required) Law (3 credit hours required) NOTE: STUDENTS WHO DID NOT GRADUATE FROM THE HBBA or THE HBAEA PROGRAMS: Students who did not graduate from the HBBA or the HBAEA programs at Wilfrid Laurier University but are enrolling in courses at Wilfrid Laurier University to complete the 51 credit-hour requirement may not receive Institute's credit hours for BU486 or for BU497F (IFRS). They must must complete courses in EDP Auditing and in Business Information Systems at another institution or complete BU456 and BU415 to meet these requirements. In addition, they can only receive 3 Institute's credit hours toward the Advanced Accounting Elective (BU417). When the content of BU497F changes, eligibility for Institute's credit hours outside the Accredited Stream will be updated.
