Survey of Independence Standard in Rules of Professional Conduct
The Independence Task Force (ITF) of CICA’s Public Trust Committee has developed an Exposure Draft (ED) that proposes changes to the independence standard contained in Rule of Professional Conduct 204 Independence (the Rule)and the related Council Interpretations (CIs).
ICAO Enters into MOU with CMA Ontario
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and the Certified Management Accountants of Ontario have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding the commencement of formal unification negotiations.

PD Spring Summer 2013 Catalogue
The 2013 Spring/Summer Professional Development program runs from mid-May through to the end of July, and has over 140 sessions in nine different locations.
Members Approve "Affiliate" Bylaw Amendments
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO) held a Special General Meeting on Thursday, February 28 to vote on bylaw amendments creating a new “Affiliate” class of ICAO members. A record 27.6 per cent of Ontario members voted, with a majority of 85.4 per cent of voters supporting the bylaw.
CPA Designation Guidelines
The Institute issued the CPA designation to all members in good standing as of November 1, 2012. The use of the CPA designation, in conjunction with the CA, becomes mandatory on July 1, 2013. Guidelines for the use of the designations are provided here.
