Christine E. Sinclair Community Leadership Award

The Christine E. Sinclair Community Leadership Award was established in 2009 to recognize and profile a younger CA from across the province who has brought distinction to him/herself and to the profession through exceptional leadership in community volunteerism.

Created in honour of Institute Past-Chair, the late Christine E. Sinclair, the Award is presented every two years as part of the ICAO Award of Distinction recognition.  It is fitting that this award should bear the name of Christine E. Sinclair, FCA - a trailblazer who was the first woman to serve as Institute Chair and who dedicated so much time to both her community and profession.

The recipient is chosen from those candidates nominated in the same year for the ICAO Award of Distinction. To honour the award recipient, the Institute donates $2,500 in their name to the registered charity of their choice. 

The recipient of the 2011 Christine E. Sinclair Community Leadership Award is 
Benjie M. Thomas, CA, who is also a recipient of the 2011 ICAO Award of Distinction.
