The CKE is held in centres across Ontario. In 2012 there will be two offerings of the CKE. The first sitting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday January 4th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (four hours). The second sitting is tentatively scheduled to take place on Monday May 7th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (four hours). Note that a student must have successfully completed a CKE in 2010, 2011 or 2012 to be eligible to attend the 2012 School of Accountancy.

The Competency Map for the CKE is the same Competency Map as for the UFE.

Registration for the 2012 January session of the Core-Knowledge Examination will be available in late fall 2011.
