Program Options

The program can be taken in whole or in part, as a student registers for each module separately. Program options include:

1.  Course and Materials (modules A-F)
2.  Materials Only (modules A-F)
3.  Practice Questions (module G)

1.  Course and Materials

The content of each module is delivered through a combination of mini-lectures and problem-application workshops facilitated by experienced instructors. Each module includes sample multiple choice questions that cover the much broader range of topics needed for preparation for the CKE.

The course sessions are offered on weekends as follows (dates listed on schedule are subject to change):

Dates

FallToronto, London and SudburySeptember to November
WinterTorontoJanuary to April

* Program offering in a given location is subject to minimum enrolment requirements. If you have a location in mind that you believe may meet these minimum requirements, but is not listed above, please contact Nisha Sethi.

Detailed information regarding session locations will be provided when registrations are confirmed.

2.  Materials Only

To enable students who live in remote areas and students unable to attend sessions to benefit from the Institute’s CKE Preparation Program, the course material is available for purchase. However, studying only the course material is not intended as a substitute for attending the sessions. Students able to do so are urged to apply for and attend the sessions.

Firms or firm consortia and district associations may also purchase the material for presentation "in-house". Those wishing to do so are subject to a copyright fee equal to the number of students in their program multiplied by the per diem course material fee less an appropriate discount based on the number of students.

In the fall, course material for the fall session will be sent in two shipments. A few modules (Finance, GSRM, MDM, Tax) will be sent by the end of October and the balance of the material (Assurance, PM) will be sent by the end of November. During the winter session, one shipment of materials is sent, typically once a week.

Students who purchase course materials only in the current session who would subsequently like to transfer into the course and materials component of the program are permitted to do so subject to space availability in the program, a payment of a $50 transfer fee (plus HST) and payment of the course differential owing.

3.  Practice Questions

Students who register for this module will be e-mailed a booklet of 300 practice CKE questions. Competency Map coverage is consistent with that allocated on the CKE.  A detailed solution is provided for each question to allow students to mark their own examinations. Because there is no classroom segment for this module, students who order course and materials or materials only must register for this module separately.

In the fall, the material for the practice question module will be e-mailed by the end of November. In the winter, practice questions are e-mailed out on a weekly basis.
