Required Pre-Course Reading

Important Notes To Participants

This course is demanding and challenging. To optimize the benefits of this course, please do the following:

  • Thoroughly complete the pre-course work (a free introductory e-learning course and assigned readings) prior to coming to the course; and
  • Inform your manager or partner that you will likely have to work, in your study group, beyond the 5:15 p.m. time to enable completion of the classroom assignment; hence, your overtime responsibilities (if any) at the office should be arranged accordingly.

 

Participants’ Requirements
Equipment and Materials
Pencils and/or pens – various colours (normal, green, red)
Laptop computer (strongly recommended)
Calculator, battery or solar powered

Reference Materials
CICA Accounting Handbooks (best if electronic version on your laptop)

Students should have access to an auditing text required by a university for Advanced Auditing (for example, “Auditing An Integrated Approach”) during days 1 through 4 of the course.  If a student does not have access to a text, students in the same group can share, as the text is used during group work.
