Outstanding CAs

The Institute is proud of the outstanding achievements of its members – whether it is in their careers, within the profession itself, or in their extensive community service and volunteer leadership.

The ICAO Award of Outstanding Merit is the highest honour that the Institute can bestow upon a member. It recognizes conspicuous and sustained service to or on behalf of the CA profession, including service to the community. Since its inception in 1984, there have been 45 ICAO Award of Outstanding Merit recipients.

The Institute's biennial FCA Elections honour those members who have brought distinction to the CA profession with outstanding achievements in their careers; community leadership; and service to the profession. As at the 2011 FCA election, there are 987 FCAs in Ontario, just under three per cent of the Institute's membership.

Coinciding with the FCA elections, the ICAO Award of Distinction is given every two years to acknowledge and profile younger Ontario CAs who have brought distinction to themselves and to their profession through their leadership and achievements.

In addition, all nominees from the ICAO Award of Distinction election will be automatically considered for the Christine E. Sinclair Community Leadership Award, a special award for voluntary community leadership.

The UFE Honour Roll recognizes the achievements of Ontario’s top CA students. They have excelled in the Uniform Evaluation (UFE), one of the world’s most challenging professional entry exams.
