Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario elects 2005-2006 governing Council

Rod Barr, FCA, continues as Chair; Council membership includes strong regional representation

Toronto (October 27, 2005) – The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario announces the election of its 2005-2006 governing Council. 13 members were re-elected to this year's Council and Rod Barr, FCA, National Securities Partner at Deloitte & Touche LLP in Toronto, continues his leadership role as Council Chair for the second year of a two-year term.

The three newly elected members of the Institutes 16 member governing Council are:

Marrianne Bridge, CA, Manager, Compliance, Capital Markets of the Ontario Securities Commission;
Gregory Gallant, Partner, Grant Thornton LLP;
Robert Scullion, Partner, Ernst & Young LLP.

In addition, Tim Kennish, Counsel to the firm Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP has been appointed as a new public representative.
