St. George Campus teams place first and fifth in CA Institute competition
Toronto, Ontario (January 12, 2009) – Three University of Toronto – St. George Campus business students came in first in this year’s edition of the Battle for CA$H, while another team from the same school placed fifth. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario held its annual competition on January 10 to give teams of university students considering a career as a Chartered Accountant the opportunity to compete, have fun and earn some cash prizes.
The 2009 CA$H winners are:

To win, the three-person student teams took part in a friendly competition stressing the use of Chartered Accounting skills such as teamwork, leadership, organizational ability and time management. Thirty-six teams from 22 university programs were run through a skill-testing simulation designed by Eagles Flight to test the participants’ ability to think on their feet and problem solve.
“The competition was excellent this year and all of the students worked hard and showed off their skills,” said Mona Ghiami, Director, Career Information at the Institute. “Everyone had a great time and, even if they didn’t win, we like to think CA$H gave participating students another opportunity to consider becoming a Chartered Accountant, a decision that would certainly make them a sure winner in the long run.”
