Ontario’s CAs invite students to “Rule the Tube”Video competition theme: “Why being a Chartered Accountant Rocks”
“As part of our overall Rule the World campaign for prospective future CAs, we’re giving students a chance to show-off their video-making skills and compete for cash,” said Mona Ghiami, Director, Career Information with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. “Last year’s entries were great and it’ll be fun to see if this year’s crop can top them. We’re looking forward to getting some great entries.” To enter the contest, students must join the high school or university ambassador program by visiting http://www.guidetorulingtheworld.ca/Join/Membership.aspx . They need to then write, rehearse and shoot their original video, which can be no longer than two minutes and 30 seconds. The completed video must be posted on YouTube and submitted to the Institute at rulethetube@icao.on.ca no later than Friday, November 4 at 11:59 p.m. Complete contest details and a sample video, developed to inspire and amuse potential entrants, can be found at www.guidetorulingtheworld.ca/RuleTheTube. A big part of the contest is based on how well people promote their video. The more views, likes and positive ratings received on YouTube, the better, although negative ratings and comments will not be counted. Finalists will be selected by Institute judges and will be contacted on Friday, November 11, with the videos then posted to www.guidetorulingtheworld.ca/RuleTheTube. People will be invited to vote for their favourite video with the winner announced Friday, November 25. Aside from $1,500 for the winner, each of the other finalists will receive $200.
