CA Institute confers FCA designations on 69 Chartered AccountantsOntario CAs receive profession’s top honour
Toronto (October 13, 2011) – The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario has announced the election of 69 Ontario Chartered Accountants as Fellows of the Institute, earning the designation FCA. The highest designation the Institute confers, Fellowship is awarded for outstanding career achievements as well as outstanding service to the community and the profession. Ontario’s Chartered Accountants work in public practice, industry, academe, government and the not-for-profit sector. Less than 2.8 per cent of Ontario's over 35,000 Chartered Accountants have been elected to Fellowship, making this an exceptional honour. “Being elected an FCA by their peers is an indication of the esteem these CAs enjoy in their profession and communities,” said Rod Barr, FCA, President and CEO of the Institute. “It is also testimony to how much each has contributed to both the CA profession and their respective communities.” The names of the 69 new FCAs are listed alphabetically, below, followed by their locality (where residence and business localities differ, both are shown, in that order):
FCA elections are held every two years, and any Institute member may submit a nomination, which culminates in a secret ballot vote by the Council. Rigorous criteria make the FCA designation a special honour. To receive this senior designation, a Chartered Accountant is required to have brought distinction to the profession through significant accomplishments in a number of professionally and socially important ways. The new FCAs will be honoured at a presentation ceremony and dinner to be held on October 13, 2011 in Toronto. -30- About the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario: For more information, please contact: |
