Professional Development at CPA Ontario

CPA Ontario supports and encourages life-long learning for Members and does this in a number of ways:

  • through the identification, development and delivery of PD seminars and Executive Development programs
  • through on-going collaboration with other provinces and CPA Canada in determining resources and needs for Member PD support, and reciprocity arrangements for costs and accessibility of PD programs throughout the country
  • through the creation and strengthening of long-term strategic partnerships with Ontario Universities
  • through consultation with Members - by way of surveys, course evaluations, task forces and focus groups

Professional development is delivered through a variety of means:

Our Seminar Series of Courses are half-day, one-day and two-day seminars.  Each year, CPA Ontario offers over 650 seminars in over 26 locations throughout the province.  These seminars are delivered in a Fall/Winter Program, which runs September to February, and in a Spring/Summer Program, which runs from May to July.  We produce a PD Catalogue for each Program, with the Fall/Winter PD Catalogue available in August and the Spring/Summer PD Catalogue available in March.

We also offer a series of multi-day, in-depthCertificate, Executive Programs and Conferences specific to different stages of Members' careers and industries. These programs present you with the rare opportunity to step away from the pressures of work to join a group of peers and focus on what you need to do to excel in today's competitive business environment.

For more information (including registration) on our Seminars, Certificate, Executive Programs and Conferences, please use the links on the left, as well as the ones below. We are currently working on developing a unified professional development program and website for all CPAs in Ontario. As we work through the unification process, offerings and registration are still available through legacy CPA PD program websites. We encourage you to visit each of our websites to find programs of specific interest to you.
