AcSB Seeks Members for New Private Enterprises Advisory Committee

Are you interested in:

  • participating in the future development of the new accounting standards for private enterprises?
  • discussing issues related to these standards with other preparers, auditors and users?

As you may know, the Accounting Standards Board of Canada (AcSB) completed and published the initial set of standards for private enterprises in December 2009. They are now moving on to the next phase, which will focus on the future development of these standards.

A key element of this will be identifying and recommending to the AcSB issues that should be addressed and changes that should be made to the standards. To that end, the AcSB is seeking members for a new Private Enterprises Advisory Committee (PEAC). They are looking for members from a variety of backgrounds, including financial statement preparers and users, and auditors involved with a wide range of private enterprises. Members should be willing to participate in five one-day meetings per year and to prepare for those meetings. More information is available.

Those interested in applying to become a member of this committee are asked to submit a resume to florita.dinglasan@cica.ca on or before February 16, 2010.
