The Independence Task Force (ITF) of CICA’s Public Trust Committee has developed an Exposure Draft (ED) that proposes changes to the independence standard contained in Rule of Professional Conduct 204 Independence (the Rule)and the related Council Interpretations (CIs).

The ICAO held a Special General Meeting on Thursday, February 28 to vote on bylaw amendments creating a new “Affiliate” class of members. A record 27.6 per cent of Ontario members voted, with a majority of 85.4 per cent of voters supporting the bylaw.
The Institute issued the CPA designation to all members in good standing as of November 1, 2012. The use of the CPA designation, in conjunction with the CA, becomes mandatory on July 1, 2013. Guidelines for the use of the designations are provided here.
